This was a nice pitch to be involved in. An ECD brought me in to be the creative on the pitch and then had me hire a writer I wanted to work with for it. The agency didn’t win the pitch, but I feel pretty good about the work we did. It was complete 360 thinking. Launch TV, newspaper, contest with microsite, and lots of interactive ads. The agency I did this for is doing a really good job of combining their traditional agency with an interactive agency they bought.

Contest for small businesses that develop technology to help other small businesses. This allows Best Buy to start the cycle of technology help for small businesses.

Rich media banner that literally proves how well we work for small businesses by letting you see one of our success stories live--a doggie daycare with a web camera.

Rich media banner that let's you control if Best Buy's employees are in entertainment mode or business mode. The campaign was tagged: We're in business mode, when you are.

Flash banner ad that interacts with another (dummie) ad.

Rich media ad lets you choose if the printer in another banner ad prints business documents or personal documents.

We wanted to use the highly visible Geek Squad vehicles to show how Best Buy was helping small businesses more than you may think. We would do this by having the agents put an orange flashing light on their car any time they were on a business call. (And presumably more often than that just to over emphasize the point.) This business idea would be supported through banner ads, in-store signage (and lights), and full page newspaper ads.
